Dorjilung project: Tata Power to invest Rs 1,572 crores
Tata Group's power arm, Tata Power, would invest in the hydropower project in Bhutan. The firm has signed commercial pacts with Druk Green Power Corporation Ltd (DGPC) to build the 1,125 MW Dorjilung project.
Under the pact, the firm would invest Rs 1,572 crores in the run-of-the-river hydropower project, comprising six units of 187.5 MW each. The project is located on the Kurichhu River in Mongar, Bhutan. Tata Power would invest the amount in tranches, as per the agreed structure.
