AM/NS lays foundation for greenfield steel plant in Anakapalli
Integrated steel maker ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India Private Limited (AM/NS India) has laid the foundation of its greenfield plant in Andhra Pradesh. The plant located at akkapalli mandal, Anakapalli district, is said to be India's largest greenfield integrated steel plant.
The project will be developed in phases and will require an investment of Rs 70,000 crores. It will have a total capacity of 17.8 million tonnes per annum (MTPA)—7.3 MTPA in Phase 1 and 10.5 MTPA in Phase 2.
