Investment worth Rs 17,000 crores planned by Airports Authority of India
Airports Authority of India (AAI) has plans to invest Rs 15,000-17,000 crore to upgrade air navigation services and air traffic control systems. The aim behind the move is to handle more aircraft within the same airspace.
60% of the spending will go into civil construction, mainly control towers, while 40% is set aside for technology, including automation and navigation tools. Under the project, 65 airports would be covered with work expected to be completed by 2029.
