Prime Minister inaugrates industrial corridor in South India
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first Industrial Corridor in South India, located in Tumakuru. This is a part of the Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor. This project is aimed at promoting the vision of a self-reliant India, with a holistic and integrated approach. Spread over a total area of 8,500 acres, the project comprises 3 nodes: Krishnapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, Tumakuru in Karnataka, and Ponneri in Tamil Nadu, with Tumakuru being prioritized for development.
National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT) and the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) are working together to develop the industrial township in three phases.
