Station Redevelopment: Railways Cancels Delhi And Ahmedabad Tender
Indian Railways (IR) has stopped the bidding process for Delhi and Ahmedabad station redevelopment tender. For New Delhi, it is the third failed attempt to get the tender finalized, while it is the very first attempt for Ahmedabad station which did not fructify.
This comes weeks after construction majors Larsen and Toubro (L&T) and Afcons Infrastructure emerged as the lowest bidders for New Delhi and Ahmedabad stations respectively. RLDA said the lowest bidders had quoted a price much exceeding the estimated cost, the only option left is to discharge the tender and float it again taking emerging situations into account.
