Station redevelopment: Rs 473 crore sanctioned for Kozhikode railway station
Indian Railways (IR) has plans to upgrade the Kozhikode railway station to global standards. Rs 473 crore are sanctioned for the project. The project was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
A detailed project report had been prepared by KITCO, the State government’s technical consultancy organization. Under the project, railway tracks would be increased from five to nine. Among other things, the commercial center would come up on 4.2 acres on the western side of the station.
