7 Tata group companies to merge in Tata Steel
Oldest and Asia's largest Steel maker Tata Steels announced the merger of 7 of its metal and mining companies into itself to simplify the group holding structure and minimize costs. The firms that would be merged are:
- Tata Steel Long Products
- Tinplate Co. of India
- Tata Metaliks
- Indian Steel & Wire Products
- Tata Steel Mining
- S&T Mining Co
- TRF
Out of 7 Tata Steel Long Products, Tinplate Company, Tata Metaliks, and TRF - are listed. These companies operate in both upstream and downstream industries linked to primary steelmaking. Tata steel said that proposed amalgamations will enhance management efficiency, drive sharper strategic focus and improve agility across businesses based on the strong parental support from Tata Steel leadership.
