NTPC plans to develop nuclear power units in Banka
The government-owned largest integrated power utility firm, NTPC, has plans to develop two nuclear units of 700 MW each in Bihar's Banka.
NTPC is doing a feasibility study for the project, which is expected to require an investment of Rs 25,000 crores. Around 1,000 acres of land will be required for the project, and the Bihar state government has also assured full support for the project.
Post feasibility assessment, a detailed project report (DPR) will be prepared.
