Ahemdabad Metro: Operations To Be Inaugrated By August End
Ahmedabad metro project, be finally inaugurated by the end of August. It is likely that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would inaugurate the project. Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) said the east-west and north-south corridors in the city will be opened for public use. It further said two other stations will be under construction even after the inauguration, Sabarmati and Kankaria East.
As per the information provided total length of Phase I of the Ahmedabad metro rail project is 40.03km, of which, a 6.5km stretch on the east-west corridor has been functional since March 2019. Officials said the remaining stretch of 33.5km will likely be commissioned by August 2022, to coincide with the 75th Independence Day.
