Hyderabad Metro: IRF signs loan agreement worth Rs 13,527 crores with L&T Metro Rail
The operator of the Hyderabad metro, L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad), in which L&T sold its 100% stake to the Telangana state government, has signed a loan agreement with Indian Rail Finance Corporation (IRFC).
This agreement is for Rs 13,527 crores to refinance the debt obligations of the Hyderabad Metro Rail project. It will allow refinancing of existing debt obligations, including non-convertible (NCDs), commercial papers, and term loans, enabling an orderly exit for existing lenders while improving the project’s long-term financial sustainability.
