Bulltet Train Project: Tender for undergound tunnel floated
The National High-Speed Railway Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has floated tender inviting bids from eligible bidders for the construction of a 21-km-long tunnel. Out of 21-Km, 7 km will be under the sea. The project is related to the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor also known as the bullet train project.
The tunnel will be built between the underground station at Bandra-Kurla Complex and Shilphata in the Thane district of Maharashtra. The tunnel will be built using a tunnel boring machine and the New Austrian Tunneling Method (NATM).
