Indian Potash Limited floats global tender for urea import amidts Middle East war crisis
Fertilizer sector major Indian Potash Limited (IPL) has floated a global tender for the import of 2.5 million metric tonnes of urea. This comes due to the shortage of the organic compound, a key component of fertilizer, amidst the ongoing Middle East war. Out of 2.5 million metric tonnes, 1.5 million metric tonnes will be routed through ports on the west coast, while 1 million metric tonnes is earmarked for east coast ports, ensuring balanced regional distribution across the country.
