Cabinet clears Industrial smart city projects worth over Rs 28,000 crore
The central cabinet has approved a mega project to build 12 industrial smart cities across the 10 states. Government has earmarked Rs 28,602 crore for this big push. These industrial areas will be located in Khurpia in Uttrakhand, Rajpura-Patiala in Punjab, Dighi in, Maharashtra, Palakkad in Kerela, Agra and Prayagraj in UP, Gaya in Bihar, Zaheerabad in Telangana, Orvakal and Kopparthy in AP and Jodhpur-Pali in Rajasthan.
These industrial smart cities will be built with "plug-n-play" and "walk-to-work" concepts and will have investment potential of around 1.52 lakh crore.
