Samudra Manthan: India plans to launch deepwater exploration mission
During his Independence Day speech on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced plans to launch a deepwater exploration mission to boost domestic oil and gas output and reduce dependence on imports.
The PM named the mission Samudra Manthan, an initiative that will be executed in “Mission Mode”.
