Godavari Drinking Water Scheme: Telangana CM to lay foundation for Rs 7,300 crore project
The chief minister of Telangana, A Revanth Reddy, would lay the foundation stone for the Godavari Drinking Water Scheme (GDWS) Phases II and III today. This project is estimated to cost Rs 7,360 crore and aims at filling Osmansagar and Himayatsagar with Godavari water as part of the Musi Riverfront Development Project.
Work under the project would be taken in Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM), with the state government bearing 40% of the cost and the remaining 60% to be mobilised by the executing agency. The plan is to complete the work in 2 years.
