Godrej Agrovet gets 47,000 acres land for oil plam project
Godrej group's agribusiness company Godrej Agrovet has got 47,000 acres of land in the Sangareddy district allocated by Telangana for oil palm plantation. Telangana's Department of Agriculture and Cooperation (Horticulture and Sericulture), allotted the area that will be utilized by the company to expand the cultivation of oil palm and set up processing units.
This comes after Godrej Agrovet inaugurated an edible oil refinery at Chintalapudi in the Eluru district. The project is crucial as India is the world's second-largest consumer and number one vegetable oil importer, and it meets 60% of its need through imports.
