IKEA plans exapnsion with compact stores
Swedish furniture firm IKEA is eyeing expansion in India and plans to set up compact stores in smaller cities to become more accessible to customers. In the second phase of its growth in India, it plans to expand through a network of small-format stores tailored to specific locations and catchment areas.
As per the updates, the stores could be as small as 10,000 sq ft and will feature digital catalogs showcasing IKEA's 7,000 products, with diverse delivery options. Initially, the focus would be on 6 cities: Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Chennai, and Pune.
