Inland Waterways project: Northeast, Assam to get Rs 1,000 crore
The Union Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways (MoPSW) has plans to invest an additional Rs 1,000 crore in Inland Waterways projects in Assam and the Northeast in 2026.
Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, said the government has undertaken projects worth Rs 1,000 crore for the northeast in the last two years, with Rs 300 crore work completed, and works worth Rs 700 crore slated for completion by 2025.
