Kolhapur airport expansion: Maharashtra government approves Rs 290 crores
The state government of Maharashtra has approved Rs 290 crore for the Kolhapur airport expansion. This project is being jointly developed by the Airports Authority of India and the Government of Maharashtra.
The fund for the government is for land acquisition required for two purposes: extending the runway and constructing the Kolhapur-Hupari road. Kolhapur district administration estimated Rs 212 crore for acquiring 26 hectares of land in Mudshingi and Tamgaon for runway expansion. Rs 4.80 crores are allocated for rehabilitating a residential colony.
