Koyambedu to Avadi Metro line project: 6 firms place bid for DPR work
Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has informed that 6 firms have placed bids to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a new metro corridor connecting Koyambedu and Avadi in north-west Chennai.
The 16.07 km elevated corridor will pass through Thirumangalam, Mugappair, and Ambattur. It is planned to be built as a spur of Chennai Metro’s Line-5 (Madhavaram – Sholinganallur) which is under construction as part of the 116.1 km Chennai Metro Phase 2.
As per CMRL, the bidders are:
- Aarvee Associates Architects Engineers and Consultants Pvt. Ltd.
- AECOM India Pvt. Ltd.
- Balaji Railroad Systems Pvt. Ltd. (BASRYL)
- RITES Ltd.
- SYSTRA MVA Consulting (India) Pvt. Ltd.
- Urban Mass Transit Company Ltd. (UMTC)
These bids have now been sent for technical bid evaluation which can take a couple of months to complete.
