Maharashtra Government To Fast-Track Greenfield Pune International Airport Project
The Maharashtra state government is set to prioritize and expedite the greenfield Pune International Airport project. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has said that the project is a high priority for the government and would be fast-tracking it. The Pune administration has been asked to expedite the land acquisition process for the project. As per Pune divisional commissioner, a total of 2,832-hectare land has to be acquired in 7 villages for the project. The estimated land acquisition cost for the government would stand at around Rs 6,000 crores. A special purpose vehicle with City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) of Maharashtra having a 51% stake has already being formed last year.
