MG Motor India plans setting up a new plant in India
The subsidiary of Shanghai-based Chinese automotive manufacturer SAIC Motor, MG Motor India is exploring the possibility of setting up a second plant in India. As of now automaker has a manufacturing plant at Halol in Gujarat where the production capacity is 120,000 units per annum.
MG Motor says that generally takes 2 to 3 years for a new plant to come into the stream. It presently has 5 models and sells around 5,000 units per month. Out of the 5 models, two are electric vehicles (EV).
