Panipat Railway Station To Be Redeveloped By RLDA
Railway Ministry’s body, Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) would redevelop Panipat railway station in Haryana. The redevelopment would involve the conversion of the existing double-story railway colony into multi-story buildings wherein vacant land will be given to developers for commercial development. The redevelopment project will be taken up on a public-private partnership (PPP) model.
The idea behind the redevelopment is to upgrade the railway station in line with global standards and offer state-of-the-art amenities for the convenience of commuters. The is a category ‘A’ station with five platforms and is a major junction in the Delhi-NCR area. Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS) has been engaged by RLDA for conducting a feasibility study, master planning, urban designing, engineering, and preparation of a detailed project report (DPR). Quotation requests are expected to be floated in the next 6 months.
