Power Grid bags order for green hydrogen project in Andhra Pradesh
Government-owned Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has bagged an order for green hydrogen initiatives in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. The project was awarded by PFC Consulting Limited and is to be executed on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis.
Under the order, Power Grid will be constructing a new 765/400 kV Gas Insulated Substation (GIS), which is a compact and reliable way to manage high-voltage power. It will involve a Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) to manage power quality and will require the installation of 765 kV transmission lines.
