Railway clears project worth Rs 755 crore in Chhattisgarh
The Indian Railways (IR) has approved Rs 755 crore for the development of a third railway line between Champa and Korba in Chhattisgarh. As per IR, the work will be undertaken by the South East Central Railway (SECR) and covers around 42 km.
The project aims to increase the capacity of this key coal transportation corridor. Currently, the route handles about 55 pairs of freight trains and 10 pairs of passenger trains daily, and the project is expected to enable the movement of an additional 5.95 million tonnes of freight annually.
