Swiggy To Onboard 36,000 Street Vendors Under PM SVANidhi
Food delivery platform Swiggy has announced that it would be expanding its Street Food Vendors program that would benefit 36,000 people in 125 tier 2 and 3 cities in the first phase. The company would be making the move in partnership with the Prime Minister Street Vendor's AtmaNibhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme. The food delivery firm has created a special destination on the app where consumers can discover their favorite street food vendors. Â
Before onboarding, the street vendors Swiggy will ensure all vendors are registered with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and will facilitate a Food Safety Training and Certification (FOSTAC) in partnership with FSSAI and their impaneled partners. The PM SVANidhi Scheme intends to facilitate collateral-free working capital loans of up to INR10,000/- of one-year tenure, to approximately 50 lakh street vendors.
