Tamil Nadu CM inaugurates Chennai's first wetland park
The chief minister of Tamil Nadu, M K Stalin, inaugurated the Dr M S Swaminathan Wetland Park in Chennai. This is the city's first such park and spans 16.63 acres. Wetland Park is developed by the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) in collaboration with Sponge Collaborative.
Located near Sri Ramachandra University, off Mount-Poonamallee High Road, the park features a 600-metre boardwalk, a pollinator garden, a basketball court, seating areas, and landscaped channels leading to a six-acre lake, which was also revived as part of the project.
