Tata Group to set lithium cell facility at Gujarat, to invest Rs 13,000 crore
Multinational business group Tata has committed an investment of Rs 13,000 crore to set up a lithium-ion cell manufacturing unit in Gujarat. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Government of Gujarat and the Tata Group subsidiary Agartas Energy Storage Solution for the project.
As per reports the initial manufacturing capacity of the plant would be 20 gigawatts hours. The proposed manufacturing facility is anticipated to meet the country's rising demand for lithium-ion batteries.
