Bengaluru suburban rail: Union minister proposes two new railway terminals
Union Minister of State for Railways V Somanna has given a proposal to add two new railway terminals near Bengaluru: Devanahalli and Nelamangala. At present the city has three major railway terminals—KSR Bengaluru City, Yeswantpur, and Sir MV Terminal.
The minister also proposed for a terminal in Nelamangala, near Tumakuru to reduce congestion at Bengaluru’s existing stations. Further, South Western Railway (SWR) is already planning a mega coaching terminal in Devanahalli, near Kempegowda International Airport.
