Bullet Train Project: Bids For Underground Station Invited
National High-Speed Railway Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has invited bids for the construction of an underground station at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) for the Mumbai- Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw tweeted, “Bids invited for design and construction of Mumbai underground station and tunnels".
Bids are invited for an underground station along with a ‘one cut and cover tunnel’ at the BKC. The cost of the project is Rs 1.08 lakh crore, out of which, the Central government will pay ?10,000 crore to the NHSRCL, the two states involved - Gujarat and Maharashtra - will pay ?5,000 crores each and the rest is to be paid by Japan through a loan at 0.1 percent interest, as per the shareholding pattern.
