Concord Control bags order from NTPC for first of its kind rail traction
Railway OEM manufacturer, Concord Control Systems, has bagged an order worth Rs 47 crores from the government-owned NTPC. The order is to develop a 3,100-horsepower hydrogen-fuelled locomotive propulsion system, a first-of-its-kind project in high-horsepower rail traction.
The firm's wholly owned subsidiary, Advance Rail Controls, in collaboration with Railway Engineering Works, will execute the project. This 3,100 HP locomotive will be the highest horsepower hydrogen locomotive attempted globally.
