Defence gives nod to Rs 79,000 crore worth procurement proposals
The Ministry of Defense, through the Defense Acquisition Council (DAC), has approved procurement proposals worth Rs 79,000 crore. These approvals are given for the acquisition of the Nag Missile System (Tracked) Mk-II (NAMIS), Ground-Based Mobile ELINT System (GBMES), and High Mobility Vehicles (HMVs) with a Material Handling Crane.
Further approvals were granted for the procurement of Landing Platform Docks (LPDs), 30mm Naval Surface Guns (NSG), Advanced Lightweight Torpedoes (ALWT), Electro-Optical Infra-Red Search and Track System, and smart ammunition for the 76mm Super Rapid Gun Mount.
The Indian Air Force received approval for the procurement of the Collaborative Long Range Target Saturation/Destruction System (CLRTS/DS).
