Jindal steel, Tata, SAIL among firms to bag railways orders worth over Rs 1586 crore
Steel sector major Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL), Tata Steel, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel (AM/NS), Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), and Jindal Stainless Ltd (JSL) have bagged orders worth Rs 1,586.39 crore from Indian Railways. The order is for steel supply.
SAIL has secured the majority share with an order for supplying 1.05 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of steel valued at Rs 671.27 crore and an additional 16,356 MT of stainless steel worth Rs 217.90 crore. Tata Steel bagged a supply order for 52,753 MT of steel for Rs 333.48 crore.
This steel will be used in the fabrication of railway wagons, coaches, and foot-over bridges.
