Surat airport project: Development and upgradation underway
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has informed that the Surat airport is undergoing development and upgradation works which include the extension of the Terminal Building, Apron, and construction of a Parallel Taxi Track.
The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 353.25 crore. As per AAI development work of the Terminal Building is in its final stage as 94 percent of the work has been completed. The awarded cost of the project is Rs.138.48 crore. The extension of the apron and construction of a parallel taxi track is nearly 72 percent completed.
Construction of the canopy in front of the terminal building is also in progress. Post upgradation, the terminal building will have a peak hour capacity of 1800 passengers, five aerobridges and 5 baggage carousels, and many more enhanced passenger facilities.
