2500 MW Solar Power Park Planned By NTPC
National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has formed a joint venture (JV) with Maharashtra State Power Generation Co (MAHAGENCO). The JV is formed to set up an "ultra-mega solar park" in Maharashtra to generate 2,500 MW of green power. The Rs 1,727-crore project proposal kickstarted in 2020 and was approved by the state Cabinet.
As per the reports from The Economic Times the park is to be developed under engineering, procurement, and commissioning (EPC) contracts in 3 stages on lands owned by the MAHAGENCO, and others belonging to the state, and center, or privately owned properties for the mega-venture.
