BHEL consortium bags order worth Rs 9,600 crore
Central public sector undertaking Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL)'s consortium has bagged a contract from Indian Railways for 80 sleeper class Vande Bharat trains worth over Rs 9,600 crore. The order is to be completed within 72 months. The agreement also includes an AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) order with a 35-year term.
Due to the run of the train on long-distance routes such as Delhi-Mumbai and Delhi-Howrah, sleeper class Vande Bharat or Train18 trainsets are in high demand. The consortium, Technology Partner, is made up of BHEL and Titagarh Wagons.
