Delhi Ring Road Project: Central government plans extension to Noida, Ghaziabad
The union government is planning to expand Delhi's third Ring Road, also known as Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II). National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) plans to develop a new 6-lane highway starting at Alipur in North Delhi and passing through Tronica City in Ghaziabad.
This new highway would connect the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway near Mandaula and continue through Ghitora and Farukhnagar to connect with the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, ending along the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.
Through this extension, the aim is to relieve traffic pressure on the Ring Road, Outer Ring Road, Kalindi Kunj, and Sarai Kale Khan by channeling traffic through northeast Delhi into Ghaziabad and Noida.
