Engie bags order for energy storage project from Gujarat
French multinational electric utility company, Engie SA, has bagged an order for a 280-MW/560-MWh battery project in Gujarat. The project is awarded by the state-owned utility, Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GUVNL).
The project will store electricity for up to two hours, absorbing surplus power during low-demand periods and supplying it back to the grid at peak times. It is set to be commissioned in 2027.
