French hospitality firm Accor to double its room count in India
French multinational hospitality company Accor has plans to double its room count in India in the next three years. According to The Economic Times, the count would be increased across premium, midscale, and economy segments (PME) rooms. Further, the firm will open one hotel in Asia (excluding China) per week this year in PME segments owing to multiple factors including growing outbound Indian travelers in Asia.
A statement from the firm said, "Demograhics and the booming middle class will drive business for us and others in a major way in India, but a big part of our growth story is also the outbound travel coming out of India".
