Government approves new projects worth over Rs 14,850 crore to link Delhi with Katra, and Dehradun
The central government has approved projects worth Rs 14,850 crore to improve road connectivity to and from Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). These projects would help people of Delhi connect with Katra in Jammu and Dehradun in Uttarakhand much faster.
The projects planned are:
- Extension of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway (also known as NE-5), with an investment of Rs 4,000 crore
- UER-II Extension to Delhi-Dehradun Expressway with an investment worth Rs 3,350 crore
- UER-II to Noida via Ghaziabad and Faridabad with an investment of Rs 7,500 crore
