Government approves railway projects worth over Rs 12,328 crore
The Union Cabinet has given its approval to the railway projects worth around Rs. 12,328 crore. These projects are a new rail line in Kutch, Gujarat, and the expansion of 3 other key railway routes across Karnataka, Telangana, Bihar, and Assam.
New railway line in Kutch will connect Deshalpar – Hajipir – Luna and Vayor – Lakhpat route, adding 145 route km & 164 track km to the existing railway network in Gujarat. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 2526 crore. Another project is the 173 km long Secunderabad (Sanathnagar) – Wadi railway route, set for completion in 5 years with Rs 5,012 crores of investment.
53 km long Bhagalpur – Jamalpur 3rd line in Bihar, whose multi-tracking is set to be completed in 3 years with an investment of around Rs 1,156 crore. One of the projects is the doubling of the 194 km long Furkating – New Tinsukia rail route, which is set to be completed in four years, having a cost of Rs 3,634 crore.
