Investment worth Rs 30,000 crore planned by Nalco
The aluminum sector major, National Aluminium Company (Nalco), has plans to invest Rs 30,000 crore. Under the plans, the firm would set up a new aluminium smelter and an associated coal-based power plant over the next 5 years.
The firm would invest Rs 18,000 crore in establishing the proposed smelter in Odisha. This project would be financed through a mix of debt and internal resources. Another Rs 12,000 crore has been earmarked for building a coal-based power plant, for which discussions are on with Coal India and NTPC.
