Odisha costal highway project: NHAI invites bids thrid time for the first phase work
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has, for the third time, floated a tender inviting bids for the first phase of the Odisha coastal highway project. The tender is floated for the third time, as in the last two years, the tenders were cancelled twice due to administrative issues.
This new tender is for the first phase of 160.18 km; the total estimated cost of the project is Rs 4,961.6 crore. The 346-km greenfield highway would be developed from Rameshwar in Odisha’s Khurda district to West Bengal’s Digha and will be developed in two phases. This tender is for the section from Rameshwar to Paradip (160.18 km) and has been approved by the public-private partnership appraisal committee (PPPAC) of the Ministry of Finance.
A detailed project report (DPR) is underway for the remaining portion from Paradip to Digha (185.82 km).
