Realme, OnePlus to stop manufacturing and sale of TVs in India
Chinese electronics maker OnePlus and Realme have made a decision to discontinue the production and sale of televisions in India. The decision comes at a time when there is intense pressure on companies from the neighboring country, as Xiaomi continues to thrive in the television category.
The TV sector comprises old timers LG, Samsung, Sony, and Panasonic, with new entrants such as Xiaomi and TCL from China, apart from homegrown Vu, Thomson (under brand licensing) also making their presence felt. OnePlus and Realme would continue their business in the smartphone segment.
