Thriveni Pellets: Tata Steel acquires majority stakes in the firm
Tata Steel has acquired a majority stake in Thriveni Pellets Private Limited (TPPL). Tata Steel would acquire a 50.01% stake in the firm for an amount that was not disclosed by the firm. It is a strategic move by Tata Steel as Thriveni Pellets, through wholly owned arm Brahmani River Pellets, operates a 4-million tonne pellet plant in Jajpur, Odisha, close to Tata Steel's Kalinganagar facility.
The plant is near Neelachal Ispat Nigam, which Tata acquired a few years ago.
