India's first semiconductor facility to be set at Dholera
The joint venture (JV) of Vedanta and Taiwanese multinational electronics contract manufacturer Foxconn has planned to set up the semiconductor and display manufacturing facility in Dholera Special Investment Region near Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Last year the JV signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gujarat government to invest Rs 1,54,000 crore to set up a semiconductor and display manufacturing plant. It is the first semiconductor manufacturing facility in India.
