MHADA to redevelop layouts spanning 923 acres in Mumbai
The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has plans to redevelop layouts spread over 923 acres across Mumbai. The 12 layouts would be redeveloped to rehabilitate over 75,000 residents within 5-10 years.
As per MHADA, redevelopment of some layouts has already been awarded, while tenders have been invited in some cases. Amongst the projects, the major ones are the 250-acre Charkop layout and the 200-acre Gorai layout. Other layouts include Majaswadi, Bandra Reclamation (98 acres), Abhyudaya Nagar (33 acres), SVP Nagar (29 acres), Versova, Ramkrishna Nagar (6 acres), Old MHB Colony, Borivali (26 acres), and Motilal Nagar (143 acres).
