Bangalore Metro: BEML bags order worth Rs 414 crores
Leading metro car manufacturer BEML Limited has bagged an order worth Rs 414 crore from the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). The order is for the supply of 6 more driverless metro trainsets (36 cars) for the Bangalore Metro Rail Project, Phase 2 (Reach 5).
This order tops up the total order from 60 trainsets (360 cars) to 66 trainsets (396 cars). According to BEML, the base contract, valued at approximately Rs 3,177 crore, encompasses the design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and comprehensive maintenance of the metro trainsets for a period of up to 15 years.
