Coal India Signs Pact Worth Over Rs 1,400 Crore
The largest coal mining firm Coal India Limited (CIL) has signed a pact for the purchase of 11 Russian rope shovels for nearly Rs 1,462 crore. CIL in its statement said that it is a part of the process of modernizing its aging heavy earth moving machinery fleet. The delivery of electric rope shovels would be concluded by September 2023. The electric rope shovels play a vital role in opencast mines for the loading of material.
