Global packaging firms to set facilities in Uttar Pradesh, to invest Rs 6,566 crore
Leading global packaging firms Ball Corporation, Crown Holdings, and Canpack are looking to invest Rs 6,566 crore in Uttar Pradesh. The firms plan to set up units in integrated manufacturing and logistics clusters being developed along expressways.
According to updates, Crown Packaging India Private Limited is setting up its first manufacturing unit in India in Unnao, while Ball Beverage Packaging India is preparing to invest in Meerut. Canpack India is planning a large investment in Unnao.
Crown Packaging India's project will be spread over 40 acres in Unnao and will have an initial production capacity of 116.2 crore aluminium cans a year. The project will require an investment of Rs 2,078.44 crore. Ball Beverage Packaging India's unit will be based in an integrated manufacturing and logistics cluster in Meerut. Spread over 40 acres, the project will require an investment of around Rs 2,913 crore.
Canpack India's project will span 26 hectares and will have an annual production capacity of about 130 crore cans. It will require an investment of Rs 1,574.62 crore.
